Thousands of families are filled with both disappointment and rage at Disney’s recent decision to close the Virtual Magic Kingdom, an online gaming community for children.
Now faithful gamers are making their voice heard through petitions, rallies, and posting YouTube videos.
“Disney has shunned families and children worldwide with this news,” said Sandra Garcia, a mother of two VMK players. Sandra Garcia, like many others, is disappointed not only by the decision, but also how Disney is down-playing the importance of VMK.
“It’s a shame, a real shame that Disney is calling VMK nothing but a promotion” said Sandra Garcia. “These are real children−they are not promotions but real human beings. My daughters are devastated. I am outraged with Disney over this.”
The wide-spread fury with Disney over closing VMK has launched many campaigns. The SaveVMKToday.com site has over 7,000 participant signatures. In just the first 48 hours of the site, 4,000 signatures were added.
The numbers of outraged families continue to grow, leaving long-term gamers like the Garcia children, with a sense of emptiness, for VMK is the only gaming opportunity of its kind.
Southeastern University offers a “drop dead gorgeous resturant” to it’s students as well as other visitors in the Lakeland area. Take a stroll down “El Prado” but don’t drive your car….this is a road for pedestrians only. There are a variety of foods here at the Tuscana Ristorante. I am sure that like the students, you too, will find this resturant very appealing!
