Crabs and Eels and Isopods…Oh My!

by Silver Gummi Shark on Feb.10, 2009, under Deep Sea Creatures

Ever take a walk outside on a cool day, and have to mind your step as you head down your sidewalk due to a little array of scurrying pill bugs? Maybe you played with these roly-poly bugs as a kid, watching them curl up into little balls when they were afraid.

Well, meet their big, and I mean BIG, deep-sea cousin…the giant isopod!

Below you can see many giant isopods, as well as the massive giant spider crab, deep sea eels, and other strange creatures finding a rare meal at the bottom’s deep.

And now, some pictures of the creepy fellows :D Enjoy!
