Florida is a tourism hotspot, with Orlando at its center.  And at the center of Orlando?  Downtown, of course.  From Lake Eola to the Amway Arena, downtown Orlando contributes greatly to the thriving attractions and events of the city.  And now, a digital agency has been called upon by Orlando’s Downtown Development Board and Community Redevelopment Agency to create an internet presence that fits this identity.  O-town’s downtown will be given a new and cutting edge website from the people at Purple, Rock, Scissors, a web-design studio formerly known as Hydra Studio.  PRPL is respected nationwide for their web design.  This website will provide everything one needs to know about the history, community, and events of downtown.  PRPL should know, as this is where they are located.  Hopes are that this internet access will draw more people into the area, a necessity in economic times such as these.  “Whether you’re an artist or entrepreneur, a resident or tourist, this website will be your central resource for living, working, visiting and playing in downtown Orlando,” said Aaron Harvey, Partner/VP of PRPL.  Keep your eye out for this website, as it is sure to point you in the right direction for any of your downtown Orlando needs.

If you’re ever in Ybor, you should stop by the Columbia restaurant.  It’s been there since 1905, and is authentically Cuban in both appearance and cuisine.  There is also a museum next door that gives you some more history about the owners and their ethnic background.  Look for the other locations in Central Florida as well, though this one is the original. If you’re lucky, there will be flamenco dancers.  And don’t miss 1905 day, where everything is the same price it was in that year!
